Creme
Remember the cat we named "Apollo's girlfriend"? Well, this was not a name, especially considering that she had nothing to do with Apollo, so we eventually named her "Creme". She was really pretty, with long white hair and a touch of brown and black on the head and a brown and black tail. We found out for sure that Creme was a female, as she got pregnant and had kittens. We don't know how many, but she didn't get really big (and she was small to begin with), so we are speculating one or two.
Well, Sunday morning (September 4th), as we were about to leave for church, Creme got hit by a pick-up and died. The driver was a neighbor and he stopped and picked her up and seemed pretty upset about killing her. I guess it was somewhat conforting to know that Creme's death was really an accident and not a "murder" by somebody driving down the road really fast and not caring about the animals around here. But for some reason, Creme decided to cross the road in front of the pick-up, and even though he wasn't going really fast, he couldn't avoid her. Needless to say, we never made it to church...
Our next problem was: are there any kittens and if so, where are they? We looked and asked around, but no kittens were found. Lately, Creme had been spending a lot of time on our porch, day and night, and I had been wondering about the "babies" (why is she here and not with them?). So maybe something happened before Creme's death and she had no more babies to care for and nurse...
