Sad - Triste

Last night was pretty bad: one kitten was hit and killed by a car.  He was one of Snicker's kitten .  He didn't have any name, but it doesn't mean that he wasn't loved.  I can't help but love and get attached to every cat or kitten that come to our porch.  This one was not tame enough to actually come in the house.  Although he did come one day while I was holding the door open to let someone else out.  He then ran in, grabbed a mouse (cat toy) and ran back outside.  It was so funny!  Number... Berribonned Eyelets Sweater

I have been playing with wool and colors.  I spun some of the Romney in the grease.  I just love the natural color variations.  I then used my Gaywool dyes to dye some of it with the Tomato color and some with the Aster.  This is how it turned out: from left to right: Tomato, natural, Aster:J'ai joué avec ma laine et des couleurs.  J'ai filé du Romney dans la graisse.  J'adore les variations naturelles des couleurs.  Puis j'ai utilisé mes teintures Gaywool pour en teindre avec la couleur... Parlor Trick Socks

I am currently knitting the parlor trick socks from "Notes on Double Knitting" by Beverly Royce, and I also joined the double-knitting group.  For those who are not familiar with them, those socks are knitted at the same time, one inside the other, from the toe up.  Beverly's instructions are given for knitting one light sock and one dark sock.  But I figured that if I am going to knit two socks at once, I might as well knit a matching pair, or as matching as you can get using multicolor sock yarn, so I didn't... Sigga

I actually completed this shawl a couple of weeks ago, but I have been trying to figure out how to take a picture of it... it is kind of big.  The pattern is Sigga from "Faroese Knitting Patterns - Knitted Shawls" translated by Marilyn van Keppel; well at least the general shapping is since I made a few changes: the yarn I used was thicker than it called for so I adjusted the number of stitches and the decreases; also, I didn't like the all garter stitch so I made it in stockinette stitch and I added the thistle color... Broken Toe - Orteil Cassé :(

We got home Friday from work to find Six Toe walking on three paws only.  Obviously something was wrong with his front left paw.  After inspection, we didn't find any open wound.  We called the vet and were able to get an appointment for the following morning.  So Saturday morning we took a disgruntle Six Toe to the vet.  She saw that his paw was badly bruised and shaved it to make sure that there was no puncture, and there wasn't.  His little foot was so swollen that she couldn't tell if there was... Tuxedo Bandit Attack!

First, I guess I need to explain part of the title...  "Tuxedo Bandit" is Apollo nickname: tuxedo, well because he looks like he is wearing one, and bandit because of his mischieves and especially that he likes lying in ambush and jumping on anybody who happens to walk by (preferably four-legged). Tout d'abord, je suppose que je devrais expliquer le titre...  "Tuxedo Bandit" est le surnom d'Apollo: tuxedo (anglais pour smoking) parce qu'on dirait qu'il en porte un, et bandit à cause de sa malice et en... Fiber stash

Thanks to my spinning mentor Elaine I am now the proud owner of my own fiber stash.  This is what I acquired: 1/2 white fleece (unknown breed), 1/2 colored Romney fleece (Elaine said that it didn't behave like typical Romney though), some black, roomit and light grey Shetland, five different colors of alpaca, a little bit of suri, some white angora, from CCR's Katie (one of Elaine's bunnies). Don't I look more like a serious spinner now? Grace à mon mentor de filage, Elaine, je suis maintenant la fière... [Lire la suite]
