It all started with the white fleece I had.  ME had said earlier that he wanted a yellow and red cardigan, so I figured that not only was I going to knit it but I was also going to make the yarn.  I had the yellow dye and was going to get the red dye, since the Gaywool "Tomato" is not really a bright red but has a lot of orange into it.  But I figured that I could get started with the yellow.  So I washed and dyed some of the fleece and started spinning it.  Since I was still at the stage "I'm going to have more than enough", I also used some of the fleece to experiment with colors.  After all, this fleece came in a huge bag and after fluffing it up, it was occupying even more space...
Tout a commencé avec la toison blanche que j'avais.  ME avait dit plus tôt qu'il voulait un gilet jaune et rouge, alors je me suis dit que non seulement j'allais le tricoter, mais j'allais aussi faire la laine.  J'avais la teinture jaune et j'allais obtenir la rouge, puisque la Gaywool "Tomato" n'est pas vraiment un rouge vif mais a beaucoup d'orange.  Mais j'ai pensé que je pouvais commencer avec le jaune.  Alors j'ai lavé et teinté des bouts de la toison et ai commencé à filer.  Puisque j'en étais encore a l'étape "Je vais en avoir plus qu'assez, j'ai également utilise des bouts de la toison pour expérimenter avec les couleurs.  Après tout, cette toison est venue dans un sac immense et après l'avoir faite touffue, elle occupait encore plus de place...

After spinning the first hank of yellow and considering the amount of fluff I had already used, I entered the "I might have enough" stage, with doubt rising more and more as I was spinning.  After spinning three hanks, I had to face reality and went into the "I definitely won't have enough" stage.  So what do you do with three hanks of bright yellow yarn and small amounts of pink-purple?  Well, I made another baby cardigan using the shaping of the berribonned eyelets sweater, but changing the stitch pattern and making it seamless except for the sleeves.  Pictures?  Well, I tought I had some but the only pictures I can find are those of the pinkish-purplish yarn:
Après avoir filé la première pelote de jaune et en considérant la quantité de touffe que j'avais déjà utilisée, je suis entrée dans l'étape "Je vais peut-être en avoir assez", avec des doutes croissants à mesure que je filait.  Après avoir filé trois pelotes, il a bien fallu que j'affronte la réalité et suis entrée dans l'étape "Je ne vais certainement pas en avoir assez".  Alors, que faites vous avec trois pelotes jaune vif et des petites quantités de rose-violet?  Bien, j'ai fait un autre gilet de bébé en utilisant la même forme que pour berribonned eyelets sweater, mais en changeant le point et en le faisant sans couture sauf pour les manches.  Photos?  Ben, je pensais que j'en avais, mais les seules photos que je peux trouver sont celles de la laine rose-violette:

So the current plan is to get a white fleece at the MD Sheep & Wool Festival in May and use it for ME's cardigan.  But since I had more of the current white fleece, I used it to play with colors some more.  At the time, I only had three colors, all Gaywool dyes: "Daisy", which is bright yellow; "Tomato", which is a red-orange and "Aster", which is kind of purple.  So I used various mixtures of them to produce five different colors (I also put some of the undyed fleece in the picture for comparison):
Alors le plan pour maintenant est d'obtenir une toison blanche au Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival au mois de Mai et de l'utiliser pour le gilet pour ME.  Mais comme il me restait de la toison blanche, je m'en suis servie pour jouer avec les couleurs d'avantage.  A ce moment là, je n'avais que trois couleurs, toutes des teintures Gaywool: "Daisy", qui est un jaune vif; "Tomato" qui est un rouge-orange et "Aster", qui est violet.  Je les ai melangées pour obtenir cinq couleurs (j'ai également mis de la toison non-teintée dans la photo pour comparaison):

I have a feeling it's going to take me a while to get the feel of how much roving equals how much yarn. But eventually, maybe in 2 or more years :-)

Love the different colors together, it reminds me of pixie sticks.
