Kittens Update

Well, it looks like there are a total of four kittens.  They come to the kitchen porch to eat and it looks like they are now living under the front porch (I guess it's a lot closer to the food source!).  I was able to hold one of them, but they usually run and hide when they see somebody.  We better try and tame them now! So, how many do you want??

Need some kittens?

Yesterday morning Snickers came on the porch for breakfast and with her were two tiny fur balls... she had brought two of her babies with her.  I wonder if she only has two or if there are more... I think that all the critters around here know that we are the local "welfare office": if you hang around the house, you will get two meals a day.  And I'm sure that they are spreading the word... See, when Stacy had her first litter, she would catch game and bring it to them in the barn to eat and teach them how to... [Lire la suite]

Creme

Remember the cat we named "Apollo's girlfriend"?  Well, this was not a name, especially considering that she had nothing to do with Apollo, so we eventually named her "Creme".  She was really pretty, with long white hair and a touch of brown and black on the head and a brown and black tail.  We found out for sure that Creme was a female, as she got pregnant and had kittens.  We don't know how many, but she didn't get really big (and she was small to begin with), so we are speculating one or... Leo came back! - Leo est revenu!

I’m so happy and relieved that Leo came back last night, and he is OK! I wonder where he was, maybe just on a hunting trip…  I am surprised that he didn’t want to spend the night inside. But he came again this morning for breakfast. ... Endless week - Semaine sans fin

It seems like this week will never end. I feel like today should be Friday. Hey, wait a minute, today is July 14th, so I shouldn’t be working!! I don’t think my boss will agree… I am really tired!  Maybe it’s because it is the first full week that Me is away. And the fact that I haven’t slept very well doesn’t help. I am very worried about Leo (one of our “children”).  I haven’t seen him for several days and it’s not like him. In the past, he might have been gone for one, maybe two days, but not that long. I went looking... [Lire la suite]

Skunk Family - Famille de Putois

For the past couple of weeks, we had a skunk come to our porch at dusk and eat the cat food.  Well, last night, a skunk came as usual, but with five little skunks!  I guess there is a whole family living near by!  They are cute, all fluffy! More darkness

Well, apparently even when I am knitting I don't move enough for the sensor!  I was knitting in my office during lunch and the light went out!!

Guild meeting

Last night was our monthly knitting guild meeting.  There wasn't too many people there (I believe a total of 8) but we still had fun.  I played the "knitting doctor" and rescued several dropped stitches.  It sounds like I am getting the reputation of being able to fix anything...  I don't think I can fix everything, but I am always willing to give it a try.

Darkness

For energy conservation purposes, they are putting the lights on motion sensors at work.  They put one in my office yesterday morning.  The problem is that if I am working at my desk or on my computer, I guess I am not moving enough so eventually the light goes out!  But apparently I am not the only one with this problem...

Need more socks?

A yarn company (Opal) is going to release a limited edition of sock yarn and will donate part of the proceeds in support of the rain forest.  You can see them at the following address: http://www.sockenwolle.de/regenwaldprojekt.html I kind of like the lady bug and the tropical fish… actually they are all cute! I have the opportunity to pre-order some for €8.40 per skein, which is enough for one pair of socks (unless if you have big feet).  This is not bad for sock yarn.  Of course I need to add shipping costs...
